Ok folks, here are the Neko Forum rules, know em, follow em, and we'll all have a good time on the forums!

- No illegal activities or discussions on means of committing any such activities, this includes software piracy, music trading, child pornography. Since people have asked, this does not extend to general debate (ie a discussion of the latest police raid or whatnot), but the admin's decision is absolutely final and you should be using careful judgement as to what is discussion and what is promoting a criminal activity.

- Remain on topic at all times. This means you should at least try not to veer threads completely off their original subject of discussion.

- Don't spam, that means no post flooding, no answering ancient threads (last post a month or more old) unless you have something really INCREDIBLE to add. If you've just posted and realize you've forgotten something consider editing your existing post rather than adding another.

- No personal attacks on other users, no hate propaganda of any kind racial or otherwise. Don't flame other users, don't jump down their throat and DEFINITELY don't flame the moderators. If you can't say things nicely, don't say em at all.

- Don't use ALL CAPS EVERYWHERE. Avoid 1337 sp43k. Consider a spellchecker.

- When creating new threads remember to use a clear and descriptive title.

-Your signature appears on every message you post, keep it small to avoid slow load times for dialup users. Giant signatures are also annoying on faster connections as they necessitate unnecessary scrolling

- Respect users' privacy, PMs (Private Messages) are just that, PRIVATE, same goes for e-mail exchanges. Posting the contents of PM or e-mail messages in public without the express permission of your correspondent is a serious offence and may result in an immediate ban should your correspondent request it and the admins be in agreement.

- Do not post your e-mail address openly on these forums, anywhere, these forums are equipped with e-mail and PM systems if anyone needs to contact you privately. Posting your e-mail address on a public board is a very dangerous thing to do. E-mail addresses should be exchanged privately where desired.

- The forum administrators and moderators have final say on all matters, don't start a fight, it won't help.


WARNINGS AND BANINGS:

- Any and all violations of these forum rules are subject to a warning being issued at the discretion of the administrator or mod handling the situation.

-- Warnings are reduced at administrator's discretion and generally based on positive contributions to the forum community.

-- Should you accrue 3 warnings you will have your posting rights removed.

-- It IS possible to acquire more than 1 warning at a time in a serious situation such as a large amount of spamming or a direct attack against another user or administrator.

-- If you have been banned from posting, what happens next is largely dependant on the reason for the ban and your own conduct. All bans are reviewed and discussed by the full complement of Neko administrators.

-- Unless the baning is deemed somehow unreasonable, it will remain in effect for a minimum of 1 week with no exceptions.

-- Offenses deemed extremely serious may result in a permanent ban.

-- At the end of the ban period, you will be reduced back to 2 warnings and allowed to post.

-- A user entering a 3rd baning for whatever reason is permanently banned.

-- A user looking to start a fight over a warning or a baning will not be well received.

-- Any and all matters you wish to have taken into consideration regarding a warning or baning must be sent PRIVATELY (PM or E-mail,) in a civil tone, to Gar or Hantai and ONLY them. Having a fight with your moderator will achieve nothing but get you warned again. Any attempt to harass staff or otherwise the operation of the forum will result in very serious repercussions.

-- Any OTHER complaints pertaining to an administrator or mod's actions must ALSO be sent PRIVATELY (PM or E-mail,) in a civil tone, to Gar or Hantai and ONLY them. Slag threads/posts will NOT be allowed.

-- Whilst a baning is in effect any attempt to circumvent said baning, such as creating multiple accounts on the forums, will be considered a deliberate attempt to abuse our servers and will result in serious repercussions.
